My name is Ken Kaupas and I am a candidate for the Republican nomination for the office of Will County Sheriff.
I have been a police officer since 1983 when I joined the Illinois State Police. I served with distinction and retired at the rank of Captain in July of 2009. I joined the Will County Sheriff's Office in December of 2010 and am currently the Deputy Chief of the Special Operations Bureau.
The position of Sheriff requires executive law enforcement experience, dedication, and leadership to effectively serve and protect the citizens who live and work in Will County. With my prior experience, coupled with my current position, I possess the unique perspective and insight needed to lead the Sheriff's Office. No other candidate for the office of Sheriff can offer this background.
I pledge to you to work tirelessly to progress the Sheriff's Office to the highest level of professionalism and efficiency to better serve and protect you. I have the experience working in one of the first State Police organizations in the United States to receive the distinction of accreditation from the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement, (CALEA).
I believe that I am the most qualified candidate seeking the office of Sheriff. I am asking for your support in the November 2014 election.
